Matt Hardy Says Hardys Are in WWE 2K27 Base Roster
Summary: Matt Hardy said in an interview Sportskeeda Wrestling published Nov. 7 that he and Jeff Hardy have a deal to be on the WWE 2K27 base roster from launch. It is a video game deal, and both remain with TNA.
The quick version
- Matt Hardy said the brothers "have done a deal" to be on the WWE 2K27 main roster "right from the jump," per Sportskeeda Wrestling.
- The deal covers the video game. Both Hardys remain signed to TNA, per Sportskeeda and eWrestlingNews.
- Neither WWE nor 2K has confirmed it or announced a roster, per Sportskeeda.
Matt Hardy says he and his brother Jeff will be on the base roster of WWE 2K27. He said so in an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, conducted through Casino.org US and published Nov. 7, 2026. WWE and 2K have not confirmed it.
What he said
"We're in WWE 2K26; we were added as downloadable characters. And then, this might be a scoop you're getting: we have done a deal where we're going to be in 2K27, on the main roster, right from the jump," Hardy said, per Sportskeeda.
The Hardys joined WWE 2K26 on July 22 as downloadable characters in the Ringside Pass Season 4 pack, per Sportskeeda. A base-roster slot would mean players do not need paid add-on content to use them.
What this is not
This is not a return to WWE. Sportskeeda says plainly that the deal is with the game, not the company's main roster. eWrestlingNews says the same: the Hardys remain under contract with TNA, and the agreement relates only to their inclusion in the game. Sportskeeda says they re-signed with TNA in December 2025.
What he said about Jeff
Matt also gave an update on Jeff, who is out indefinitely per TNA's Nov. 5 injury report. Matt said Jeff was hurt at Halloween Havoc last year. He said something "just popped" when Jeff hit a clothesline through a table. He added: "I think at some point he will probably take a couple months off and just try and have some treatment done and try and get it taken care of fully." Sportskeeda adds its own reporting that Jeff is expected back for TNA's December tapings in Texas. That is Sportskeeda's reporting, not Matt's statement, and TNA has not said so in anything we found.
What is not known
- A release date for WWE 2K27 and a roster. Neither WWE nor 2K has announced either.
- Terms of the deal. Matt did not give them.
