Bauer Says MLW Women's Title Answer Will Come on Fusion

Summary: MLW CEO Court Bauer said before Saturday's SuperFight, the company's first pay-per-view in seven years, that Shotzi Blackheart, now with TNA, remains MLW women's champion and the answer is coming on Fusion.

The quick version

  • Bauer said Shotzi Blackheart is still MLW's women's champion, is not on the SuperFight card, and that "the answers" on the title will come on future episodes of Fusion, per Slam Wrestling's account of his media call.
  • SuperFight is MLW's first pay-per-view in seven years. It is Saturday, Nov. 7, at 8 PM ET on Veeps, from Cicero Stadium near Chicago.
  • Bauer also said he is open to the Freebird rule if The Glasgow Boys On Top win the tag titles.

MLW Saturday Night SuperFight is tonight, Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, at 8 PM ET on Veeps. It is the company's first pay-per-view in seven years, and MLW says the building is sold out. CEO Court Bauer took questions from the media ahead of it, and Slam Wrestling and Gerweck.net both published accounts of the call.

The Shotzi Blackheart question

Per Slam Wrestling, Bauer said Blackheart is still the MLW women's champion and has since signed with TNA. She will not be on Saturday's card. Asked about the title, Bauer said the answers will come on future episodes of MLW Fusion.

Wrestling Inc reports Blackheart's MLW contract was said to expire Oct. 5, and that TNA has since signed her. It also reports she is still listed as MLW Women's Featherweight Champion on MLW programming because of taping delays. Slam's account gives no date for a decision.

Other things Bauer said

Per Slam Wrestling's account:

  • He is open to letting The Glasgow Boys On Top use the Freebird rule if they beat The Good Brothers for the MLW Tag Team Championships.
  • Tessa Blanchard's MLW debut was delayed after it was announced, and he said the online argument about it was overblown, with nothing out of the ordinary except the timing, per Slam.
  • Production deals delayed MLW's television tapings this year. He said the top of 2027 should give the post-production team some relief.

Slam's write-up also says the Tsuji vs. Lee match "could steal the show" and credits the NJPW partnership with smoothing the logistics. It does not make clear whether that line is Bauer's or the writer's, so we do not attribute it.

On the Veeps deal, Bauer said it opened new avenues for MLW. Gerweck.net's transcript has him calling the return to Chicago a hope for "the next of many" shows.

The card

The headline match is Killer Kross defending the MLW World Heavyweight Championship against Josh Bishop in a Last Man Standing match. Our card story has the matches we could confirm. Slam Wrestling counts six on the card. Gerweck.net's transcript of the host's rundown also lists Austin Aries vs. Matt Riddle for the National Championship and a Chicago Street Fight for the tag titles.

How we know

Source: Slam Wrestling's write-up of the media call and the Gerweck.net transcript of the same call. We were not on the call and could read only part of the Gerweck.net transcript. Slam's account is a summary, so the Bauer lines above are paraphrase, not direct quotes, except where marked. The contract-expiry detail is Wrestling Inc's report, not Bauer's.
