This is a rumor and it is not confirmed. Fightful Select reports that Rich Swann's TNA contract runs out at the end of the year. Neither TNA nor Swann has commented.

The quick version

  • Not confirmed by TNA or Swann.
  • Reliability: Single source, not confirmed. Fightful Select is the origin; WrestlingHeadlines relayed it.
  • Fightful Select says it has not heard whether a new deal has been discussed.

What is being reported

Fightful posted a short item on Nov. 7: "Former TNA World Champion Rich Swann TNA contract is set to expire at the end of the year. We haven't heard whether a new deal has been discussed." The full report is for paid subscribers, so we have read only that summary.

WrestlingHeadlines relays it and adds a date, Dec. 31, 2026. It says Swann becomes a free agent then unless the two sides agree a new deal. The Dec. 31 date is WrestlingHeadlines' wording. We cannot see it in Fightful's public text.

Where the accounts differ

Fightful says Swann has been with TNA since 2018 and that it was announced in July that he had re-signed. WrestlingHeadlines says he returned in the summer of 2025 and signed a short-term contract earlier this year. We cannot tell from these which description fits the current deal, and TNA has not published terms.

What we know for certain

Fightful lists Swann as a former Impact World Champion, TNA World Heavyweight Champion, X-Division Champion and Digital Media Champion. WrestlingHeadlines says he has challenged for the TNA World, International and X-Division titles this year.

This follows other TNA contract reports. We covered Mustafa Ali's reported deal and George Iceman's reported exit. F4W Online says PWInsider confirmed Iceman's departure on Nov. 6. Our Iceman story still carries the RUMOR label.

What would confirm or kill it

A TNA announcement of a new deal, or a post from Swann, would end the rumor. A confirmed exit, or a different end date, would too. We will update this page either way.
