WWE announced on Nov. 2 that the 40th annual Royal Rumble will take place Saturday, Feb. 6, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The winners of the 30-man and 30-woman Rumble matches each earn a title match at WrestleMania 43, WWE said.

Rumble weekend

Context

Arizona has hosted the Rumble twice before, in 2013 and 2019, so this is its third time. The date is part of a seven-event agreement announced in May between TKO, the Arizona Sports & Events Alliance and Legends Global. It covers UFC, WWE, PBR and Zuffa Boxing events over three years.

Putting SmackDown and an AAA show in the same building the night before is a notable pairing, since WWE and AAA talent are already sharing cards this fall. WWE has not said which AAA titles or names will appear.
