Summary: Kairi said she will not wrestle on Chris Jericho's cruise, which sails Nov. 7 to 11 and hosts AEW Collision. She will do merchandise and autographs. No reports we found say she has signed anywhere.

The quick version

  • Kairi told Weekly Pro Wrestling she will not wrestle on Chris Jericho's Rock N' Wrestling Rager at Sea. She plans merchandise sales and autograph sessions.
  • The cruise runs Nov. 7 to 11 and hosts AEW Collision on Nov. 7. Sports Illustrated calls it her first appearance since leaving WWE.
  • Reports of AEW talks come from Fightful Select, not from Kairi or AEW. We have found no report of a signing.

Kairi, the former Kairi Sane, will not wrestle on Chris Jericho's Rock N' Wrestling Rager at Sea, which sails from Miami from Nov. 7 to 11, she told Japan's Weekly Pro Wrestling. She said: "I won't be wrestling in matches this time. We're planning merchandise sales, autograph sessions, and things like that." The quote was carried by Wrestling World on Oct. 20, which links to the interview. AEW is bringing Collision from the same ship on Saturday, Nov. 7.

What she has said

Kairi has been a free agent since July, after WWE released her in April, per WrestleZone. In a Weekly Pro Wrestling interview carried by Sports Illustrated, she described the cruise offer as "truly wonderful" and said the idea of working as the "Pirate Princess" on a ship excited her. On her future, she said: "I can't give you any specific details just yet, but various things are already in motion." She asked fans to wait a little longer.

Jericho announced her as a special guest. Wrestling Attitude says the cruise sails from Miami to Bimini, with photo ops and autograph sessions.

What AEW has said

Tony Khan was asked about Kairi after WrestleDream. As quoted by WrestleZone, he said: "She's a fantastic wrestler. I can't speak to that at this time, but I am very aware and excited to see that she's a free agent. I think that that's very, very interesting, and I'm very intrigued by the possibility of that."

What is only reported

Fightful Select reported on Oct. 26 that talks with AEW were still going and that she has offers from Japanese companies. That report is not confirmed by Kairi or AEW. Fightful has also said her U.S. visa expired and that she needs a sponsor, a process that starts once she signs and could take about 15 business days, per eWrestling and SEScoops. Her presence on the cruise does not mean she will appear on the Collision broadcast.

What to watch

AEW Collision on Nov. 7 from the ship, which AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery list for TNT and HBO Max, and any announcement from Kairi in the following days. We cover the announced Collision card in a separate story.
