AEW fans have been waiting for an AEW video game since the promotion started. It seems their wish finally came true as the company made some major game-related announcements.
AEW Games started the virtual press conference following a minor delay. Kenny Omega came out and had a look similar to Steve Jobs. He thanked fans for all the support and then said that they “shall re-write history and make history together.”
Omega said that it was part of his contract with AEW to be a part of AEW Games. He said he wants a game to be “easy to pick up, but difficult to master,” similar to what NBA Jam is.
He then showed pre-alpha footage of a game where fans could see Omega and Chris Jericho wrestling each other. He revealed that AEW is working with Yuke’s on the new console game. Yuke’s are most well known for making the older WWE Smackdown vs RAW games and now they have a partnership with AEW.
Aubrey Edwards then came out and revealed AEW Elite General Manager, which will be a mobile phone game. Afterwards, Cody Rhodes came out and revealed a game called AEW Casino: Double or Nothing. The game is scheduled to release in Winter of this year and will be a casino-themed game.
