Welcome to our live coverage of tonight’s episode of WWE NXT on USA Network. Shawn Michaels will host a confrontation between NXT Champion Finn Balor and Kyle O’Reilly.

WWE NXT Results – 9/30/2020
From Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL

The show opens with recaps and Kyle O’Reilly winning the Gauntlet Eliminator and Candice LeRae winning the women’s battle royal.

Shotzi Blackheart def. Dakota Kai via pinfall. Shotzi took a nasty head bump on the apron toward the end. Rhea Ripley took out Raquel Gonzalez at ringside before Shotzi rolled Kai up for the win.

Santos Escobar and Isaiah Scott participate in a sit-down interview in different locations. Swerve says he believes he’s the better competitor because he’s the only man in WWE who’s pinned Escobar. They go back and forth about tactics, culture, and their title match at TakeOver.

A Prime Target segment on Kyle O’Reilly airs ahead of his first NXT Championship match on Sunday.

Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae react to the news that Tegan Nox is out with another torn ACL.

Cameron Grimes is out to discuss losing the Gauntlet Eliminator last week, so he has opponents lined up for tonight.

Cameron Grimes def. Ariel Dominguez via pinfall in a squash. Another opponent comes out, but Ridge Holland attacks the jobber. Holland headbutts Grimes in the ring.

Cameron Grimes def. Ridge Holland via DQ when Ridge wouldn’t let up on his beating.

Austin Theory believes Kyle O’Reilly needs to get on his level.

Kushida def. Tony Nese via submission with the Hover Board Lock. Velveteen Dream appears on the tron. Dream says he always puts on his best performances under the brightest spotlights. “See you Sunday.”

Grimes, while searching for William Regal, runs into Dexter Lumis backstage.

Adam Cole is out with a mic. He talks about Undisputed Era’s time in NXT over the last three years. They completed the championship prophecy, won the first WarGames, dominated the brand. Cole calls out Theory for running his mouth on O’Reilly. Theory is out and accepts a match challenge.

Adam Cole def. Austin Theory via pinfall in a competitive match. After, Cole tells the camera that Kyle O’Reilly was born ready for TakeOver.

Kayden Carter def. Xia Li via pinfall with a roll-up. Post-match, Kayden offered a hand to Xia, but she shoved both Kayden and Kacy out of her way.

In a pre-taped segment, Shawn Michaels hosts a face-to-face between Finn Balor and Kyle O’Reilly. Balor talks himself up, with Kyle noting it won’t be absolute defeat. Finn questions if Undisputed Era will also be there. Kyle says Sunday is about him. Balor believes Kyle has what it takes to be champion, but he won’t be taking it off of him.

Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae def. Damian Priest & Io Shirai via pinfall when Johnny hit One Final Beat on Priest after Candice did a low-blow. Candice attacked Io post-match. The Gargano’s stand tall with the gold before TakeOver.
