WWE NXT News & Notes – Superstar Returns, Title Matches Next Week & More

– Next week’s WWE NXT on Oct. 2nd will feature the following matches:

• Matt Riddle vs. Adam Cole (c) – NXT Championship
• Candice LeRae vs. Shayna Baszler (c) – NXT Women’s Championship
• The Street Profits vs. Undisputed Era (c) – NXT Tag Team Championship

That episode will mark the first full two-hour run on USA Network and will have “limited commercial interruption” while going up against AEW’s Dynamite premiere on TNT.

– Dakota Kai returned to action on this week’s USA portion with a win over Taynara.

– This week’s NXT taping featured two pre-show dark matches: Reina Gonzalez defeated Santana Garrett and Austin Theory defeated Ridge Holland.

– Lacey Lane is now Kayden Carter, while Chase Parker & Matt Martel, the former Team 3.0, are now going by Ever-Rise.

– Cathy Kelly gave an injury update on several superstars from last week, noting that Velveteen Dream is still on the injured list and is taking it day by day with his lumbar injury. Arturo Ruas is cleared after suffering a finger injury against Pete Dunne.

It was also noted that Kona Reeves is now cleared to compete after receiving five stitches to the face.
