WWE Monday Night Raw Results (8/10/20) – Orton Turns On Flair

Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton and Samoa Joe hyped what is to come. Joe in the ring for the contract signing between Seth Rollins and Dominik Mysterio at SummerSlam. Mysterio will also sign his contract, officially making him a WWE Superstar. Seth Rollins came out with Murphy. Mysterio came out with a kendo stick. Joe spoke about Rollins giving a young man with little to no training no choice but to face him in the ring. Rollins said he had no choice becoming the Monday Night Messiah and to make sacrifices for the greater good. Rollins told Mysterio he can bring a kendo stick or any tool in the toolbox because he wants him to have every opportunity at his disposal so there will be no excuses when he ends his career before it begins. Rollins signed the contract and Dominik signed both of his contracts. Rollins told him to get the hell out of the ring and maybe go sit and take some notes because he has a match with Humberto Carrillo that’s up next.

Seth Rollins w/Murphy vs. Humbert Carrillo w/Dominik Mysterio. Murphy attempted to interfere but Mysterio used the kendo stick. Rollins put Humberto away with ease to get the clean victory. Winner, Seth Rollins.

After the match, Murphy attacked Mysterio. Mysterio speared Rollins. Rollins recovered and joined Murphy in attacking his SummerSlam opponent. Murphy ripped off Mysterio’s shirt and the kendo stick shots were aplenty. Rollins said Rey needs to beg for mercy for his son. Rollins teased the stomp and looked into the camera and said, ‘To be continued Rey.’

Andrade, Angel Garza and Zelina Vega come out. Zelina, in her gear, stated she had nothing to do with Montez Ford being poisoned. She went after Bianca Belair verbally. Angelo Dawkins came out without Ford.

Andrade w/Zelina Vega & Angel Garza vs. Angelo Dawkins. Zelina distracted the referee by getting on the apron. Belair came out and pulled her off. Meanwhile, Dawkins hit a spinebuster on Andrade and pinned him. Winner, Andrade

After the match, Belair threw Vega into the ring.

Bianca Belair w/Angelo Dawkins vs. Zelina Vega w/Andrade and Angel Garza. Belair was dominating until Vega poked one of her eyes. Belair recovered and hit a cross-body block and press slammed her. Belair charged at Vega but no one was home. Vega punched Belair who countered with a powerbomb. Then Zelina picked Belair up and dropped her face first in the corner. She hit KOD and pinned her. Winner, Bianca Belair.

Charly Caruso got in the ring and talked about Vega denying she poisoned Montez Ford. Belair bragged about taking her out. Montez Ford asked Andrade and Garza if they really thought he would miss the biggest party of the summer.

Time for VIP Lounge with MVP. He came out with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. MVP blamed the technical difficulties for his loss last week. Apollo Crews came out and pointed out he was holding the new United States Championship belt that MVP paid thousands for. Crews promised to take out MVP at SummerSlam. A physical altercation ensued.

WWE United States Champion Apollo Crews vs. Shelton Benjamin w/MVP and Bobby Lashley in a non-title match. Back from commercial, the match was already in progress. Crews hit a powerslam and hit a standing moonsault to get a near fall. Benjamin to the outside. Crews was distracted by Lashley taking a swipe at his knees while he ran the ropes. Benjamin back in, attacking Crews from behind and pinning him for the three count. Winner, Shelton Benjamin. Lashley went to put the Full Nelson on Crews but MVP stopped him. He needs Crews healthy at SummerSlam and Lashley released him. Crews hit an enziguiri on MVP and left the ring.

Tom Phillips said a cinderblock has been thrown through a window at the Performance Center. A security guard told Retribution to go home. One of the males in the group told the guard to go home. Another threw a cinderblock through a glass door.

Sarah Schreiber interviewed Mickie James. The other women are sadly mistaken if they think she does not have gold on her mind. Natlaya and Lana were on the set and laughed at her. Nattie said she’s the best of all time. James accused Natalya of working off her family’s coattails.

Cedric Alexander, Ricochet, Erik and Ivar vs. Akira Tozawa and Ninjas. Ricochet hit some offense on one of the ninjas. The Viking Raiders ended up hitting their finisher on a ninja in the ring and pinned him. Winners, Cedric Alexander, Ricochet, Erik and Ivar

After the match, the R-Truth ninja pinned Tozawa on the entrance ramp. He revealed himself as R-Truth. Winner and NEW WWE 24/7 Champion, R-Truth

Charly Caruso interviewed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. He talked about Randy Orton, saying he will realize the evolution has passed him by.

Liv Morgan with Ruby Riott vs. Peyton Royce with Billie Kay. Royce connected on a spin kick. They ended up landing simultaneous kicks and both went down. Kay attempted to get involved but Riott tried to stop her. The referee saw Riott and thought she was trying to interrupt. Royce hit Morgan, who was distracted, from behind and followed it with her Deja Vu finisher and the pinfall victory. Winner, Peyton Royce. After the match, Riott tried to explain to Morgan what happened.

Shane McMahon hyped Raw Underground, which is up next.

Cal Bloom and Riddick Moss fighting in the rope-less rings. Moss punched Bloom in the eye and the referee called the fight.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley with Sasha Banks vs. Asuka in a non-title match. If Asuka wins, she’ll face Banks at SummerSlam for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship. Asuka caught Bayley with a kick to the face. The lights in the building flickered. Asuka connected on a hip attack and got a nearfall. Bayley rallied and connected on an elbow from the top rope. She caught Asuka with a nice spinning back fist and hit a sunset bomb that drove her opponent into the corner. But Asuka countered as Bayley played to the ‘crowd.’ She locked in the Asuka Lock and the WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion tapped out. Winner and NEW No. 1 contender for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship, Asuka.

Shane McMahon introduced a 17-time amateur wrestling champion of Brazil named Arturo Ruas. He kicked his opponent out of the ring. When he got back, he ate punches and elbows from Ruas. Ruas kicked him to end the fight. No one stepped up to challenge Ruas next.

Dabba-Kato squashed his opponent. Shayna Baszler got in and Shane asked Kato to give her the ring. Shane tried to get her an opponent but no takers. Baszler grabbed a woman and punched her. She continued the assault when another woman got involved. Baszer took her out too. A third woman got involved but still not enough.

Outside, Retribution has tipped over a car.

Randy Orton with Ric Flair vs. Kevin Owens. Orton tried an RKO early but ended up getting superkicked. They went back and forth with Owens finally taunting Ric Flair. Orton assaulted Owens by throwing him into the ring steps. Owens got back in but Orton worked over his ankles. KO coutnered with a senton but Orton hit a belly to back suplex on the announce table. Owens recovered and punched Orton from the ropes and connected a senton into a near fall. Owens set up the Stunner but Orton dodged it and hit a Stunner of his own to get the pinfall victory. Winner, Randy Orton.

After the match, Flair raised Orton’s arm and ran his mouth to Owens. Orton told Flair they had something to talk about before they celebrated.

Orton said the reason he had this match with Kevin Owen is because of Flair’s mouth and ego. He no longer loves or respects Flair. Flair took him under his wing because he wanted him to be the son he wish he had. Orton said the Flair he looked up to would not have needed a pacemaker or slipped into a coma two summers ago. The Flair he looked up to was not a whore for the spotlight like he is now. Flair is washed up.

Flair said Ric Flair from 2001 is no longer there. He likes the spotlight, he’s 71-years-old and is still on Raw. Guys like Hulk Hogan call him and ask him how it is. He says it’s the greatest feeling in the world. He wants Orton’s approval and wants to be there when Orton wins his 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th championship to break his record. Flair says it’s his record, not John Cena’s record. Flair put Orton over as the greatest performer in the world today and he loves being there with him.

Orton pulled the mic away from Flair and hugged him. When Flair turned around, Orton delivered a low-blow. Orton knelt over him as the lights flickered. Orton setup the punt but the lights went out. When they came back on, Flair was out and Orton took Flair’s hand and then spoke to him.

Drew McIntyre came out and ran off Orton. He called him a son of a bitch and checked on Flair. Referees and producers came out to assist. Orton watched from the stage as McIntyre shook his head. McIntyre promised everything is coming to Orton and SummerSlam.
