Why Shane McMahon For Raw Underground, Retribution Members, Time For Triple H?, Ronda Rousey’s WWE Future

What is it about Shane McMahon that he was picked to host Raw Underground? Does it seem out of place to you?

Vince McMahon believes he, Shane and Stephanie all have the ability to draw fans and if you look at the numbers, they do. So whenever ratings are down he will look for ways to get them on television. I do not know what the thinking was behind having Shane host Raw Underground but I do have a theory. One thing Shane has pushed Vince for in the past is to get into MMA. In fact, this played a key role in Shane leaving WWE back in 2009. Not only did Shane want to try something on his own but he was frustrated over his father constantly refusing to get into MMA. One of the reasons Vince does not like MMA is he feels talent have a limited shelf life when they lose. In other words, he likes to stick to being able to control the outcome. It is possible Shane pitched the idea of Raw Underground and we will likely find out more later.

Is there anything known about who will be in the Retribution faction that debuted on this week’s Raw with Raw Underground?

There are no known members at this time. What we do know is the faction will be limited to Raw only but plans could always change to have them on the other two brands. Dabba-Kato was featured prominently in the Raw Underground segment but even he cannot be confirmed as a faction member at this time. Kato is a former American football player and has been with WWE since 2016. He was an entrant in the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabi in 2018 and was eliminated by Braun Strowman.

Do you think Monday’s Raw was just further indication that Vince McMahon is completely out of touch and needs to be replaced as soon as possible by Triple H?

There were some questionable decisions on Raw. I did not like Montez Ford being “poisoned,” the strange booking of Shayna Baszler and there are plenty of questions about Raw Underground. Vince McMahon will be 75 this month. There is no way a 75-year-old man can have an accurate pulse on what is going on in pop culture. Triple H has shown through NXT he has a good mind for wrestling and would certainly be a capable replacement. But I do not feel like it is a given he will take over directly for Vince and I do not think the criticism of WWE will stop when Vince steps down. I see Vince’s responsibilities being divided and there will still be a tremendous anti-WWE bias. As I stated yesterday, some fans were gearing up their criticism of Raw Underground before the segments even aired. While I’m not going to sit here and act like it was must-see TV, some of the reactions have been overreactions. Let’s see what comes of it and if it fails, we will call it out.

Will we ever see Ronda Rousey in WWE again?

Ronda Rousey is under WWE contract through the first quarter of 2021. It is always possible they are able to convince her to comeback but she hated the schedule. She is on record as to saying she will never been full-time ever again and at this point, there really is not much for her. She has been gone over a year and one would think her star has faded as a must-see Superstar. Ronda had a very successful career in UFC, she was not as accepted in WWE as much as the company would have liked but some fans felt she was force-fed to them. That is not a way to get over in 2020.
