Apollo Crews’ absence from Sunday’s The Horror Show at WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view was COVID-19 related, according to Dave Meltzer.
Word making rounds is there was an issue with his latest COVID-19 test and he was set for further testing today before taking part in WWE Raw. The company canceled his United States Championship defense scheduled against MVP, running a segment he did not pass his pre-match physical due to a bulging disc in his back from the full nelson Bobby Lashley put him in.
Lashley presented MVP with a United States Championship belt and put it around his waist.
Crews won the United States Championship back in May, his first title reign since coming to WWE five years ago. He vowed to go after Lashley and MVP when he was medically cleared.
