> Hall of Famer Jake Roberts said in a video on Nov. 3 that he has no WWE contract and only does autograph signings and Topps cards for WWE, correcting his Oct. 31 claim that he had re-signed.

## The quick version

- Roberts said on Oct. 31 that he had "re-signed with WWE." On Nov. 3 he said that meant autographs, not a contract.
- He said he goes to events such as SummerSlam to sign autographs and does Topps cards "here and there."
- Roberts is no longer with AEW. He confirmed his AEW exit earlier this year, per WrestleZone.

WWE Hall of Famer Jake "The Snake" Roberts said in a video posted to X on Tuesday, Nov. 3, that he is not under contract with WWE. His work for the company is limited to autograph signings and Topps cards, he said. The video corrects comments he made on Oct. 31.

## What he said

On Oct. 31, Roberts told an interviewer he was no longer in AEW and had "re-signed with WWE, doing some stuff for them and just enjoying life," according to Ringside News.

In the Nov. 3 video, Roberts said the work he meant was "signing autographs." He said he signed autographs at SummerSlam and does Topps cards "here and there." He also said: "I'm not under contract."

Outlets transcribed the longer lines of the video slightly differently, so we quote only the short phrases that all of them share.

## Context

Roberts joined AEW in 2019. WrestleZone reports he confirmed his AEW departure in July 2026 and that the clarification suggests his role with WWE is limited to legends-related activity. WWE has not commented on his status in the coverage we reviewed.

The video also included a health update. Roberts said he has COPD and emphysema, and that he quit smoking five weeks ago. We are not reporting more on his health than he said himself in public.

## What to watch

Whether WWE announces any appearance or signing for Roberts. Nothing has been announced.
