After he beat Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship on Saturday, Nov. 7, Ciampa said in a post-match video from AEW that the belt is called "Ruby." WrestlingHeadlines and Ringside News reported it on Nov. 8. The match was on AEW Collision, aboard the Norwegian Jewel during Chris Jericho's cruise. We did not watch the video. Both outlets transcribe it, and their wording differs in small places. We quote only the phrases they share. ## What Ciampa said Ciampa pointed to his first ten months in AEW and said he is "rewriting the damn playbook." He said "you can call me the history maker." He also claimed he is the first wrestler in the history of the business to win a title on television on a cruise ship. We have not checked that claim. He said he is "the new belt collector" and is "taking every damn title until I take the world title." Then he introduced the National Championship: "she tells me her name is Ruby." He ended with "Say hello to Ruby." ## The match Ciampa won with a roll-up after rain fell on the ring, per Ringside News. It was the only title change on the show. ## The record WrestlingHeadlines says Ciampa is the fifth wrestler to hold the National Championship since the title was introduced in November 2025. We have not checked the count. Both outlets say he held the TNT Championship before this. Ringside News calls this his second title reign since he joined AEW. ## What may come next On the Nov. 8 Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer predicted that Ciampa against Ilja Dragunov will be the feud for the National title, according to Ringside News' transcript. He said he is not sure where Andrade goes now. His co-host Bryan Alvarez noted that Andrade holds a briefcase for a world title shot. Those are predictions, not AEW plans. Ringside News says Dragunov interrupted a Ciampa promo on the Oct. 28 Dynamite and challenged him to a match that night. Ciampa walked out. 411Mania's headline says Mike Bailey challenged Ciampa after the win.
