Ric Flair recently applied for a trademark for “The Man”, according to Wrestling News.
For most of his career, Ric Flair would call himself “The Man” and would use that in promos and say “To be the man, you have to beat the man.” It seems Ric Flair recently took issue to Becky Lynch and Taylor Swift using the term “The Man”. Becky has been using that moniker since last year, and Taylor Swift recently made a song titled “The Man”.
In a since deleted tweet directed at both Lynch and Swift, Ric said “I Hate To Break It To You Both @BeckyLynchWWE And @taylorswift13, But I’m THE MAN!!! And To Be THE MAN, You Gotta Beat THE MAN! WOOOOO! #theman”
Shortly after, Ric tweeted “To Be The Man, You Gotta Beat THE MAN! #alreadytrademarked”
Becky Lynch responded in a tweet, “I am The Man”.
Ric Flair’s last appearance with WWE was at the Raw Reunion show in July.
