Do you see Raw getting better or worse? And secondly, is WWE cutting more talent soon?
From a creative perspective, Raw is struggling. Last night’s show featured one great match and two good matches. Matt Riddle vs. Sheamus was fantastic, while AJ Styles vs. Jeff Hardy and Drew McIntyre vs. The Miz were good. Other than that, we saw a forgettable Survivor Series show established, WWE continue their struggles with Keith Lee, the lopsided Hurt business vs. Retribution feud and other forgettable segments. I do not understand why WWE is so intent on the brand vs. brand concept at Survivor Series, which only makes less sense coming off the 2020 WWE Draft. As for cuts, I have not heard of any upcoming releases and would expect them more after WrestleMania 37 next year.
Do you think we’ll see The Rock vs. Roman Reigns sooner, rather than later?
I cannot confirm there are actually plans to do The Rock vs. Roman Reigns. I can confirm it’s been rumored but Roman has been rumored for a lot of programs, as we discussed yesterday in Ask WNC. If they do it, they will want to do it at a big pay-per-view in front of live fans. WrestleMania 37 seems like the most likely opportunity but the last I heard, Vince McMahon wants Roman vs. Brock Lesnar.
When is Samoa Joe going to be cleared to compete?
Samoa Joe confirmed earlier this month his in-ring career is not over. He said right now he’s enjoying his time on commentary and “exploring things.” He has not been medically cleared since suffering a concussion back in February. When he will be cleared to compete remains to be seen and he is internally considered to be “out indefinitely.”
Do you think it was the right decision to take the briefcase off Otis? Should it have gone to John Morrison instead of The Miz?
I do not like WWE playing a game of “hot potato” with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Otis was not elevated by holding the briefcase and The Miz has been a glorified jobber for months. Just last night Drew McIntyre dismissed Miz clean in under five minutes. As I discussed yesterday, it seems like Vince McMahon has lost interest in the Money in the Bank briefcase.
