The XFL is now owned by a company formed by The Rock and his partners. The company is called Alpha Acquico, LLC.
Both Rock and his ex-wife and business partner Dany Garcia confirmed the deal closed on Friday.
“The deal is official closed and “the keys” to the XFL have been handed over. I humbly accept and promise to put my callouses to hard work building our new brand. Congrats to my partners Dany Garcia & Gerry Cardinale and our sharp, hungry team,” The Rock tweeted.
“The deal is officially closed,” Garcia said. “Excited & humbled to be the first woman to ever own an American major sports league. A big thank you to The Rock & #GerryCardinale & our incredible teams for all their work the past few months. More #bigmoves to come!”
As previously reported here on WrestlingNews.com, the sale was approved by U.S. District Court Judge Laurie Silverstein following opposition earlier this month.
