New Tag Champs And Big Return To NXT

Last night on the August 28th episode of NXT from Full Sail University, the Black and Gold brand seemed to up the ante a bit before premiering on USA in a few short weeks.

Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke came out to talk about the beating they delivered to Mia Yim last week, but they were not able to address the crowd at Full Sail.

Just before Shayna was to speak, Rhea Ripley’s music hit and the former NXT UK Women’s Champion came down to the ring. She snatched the mic from the current NXT Women’s Champion and laid down a challenge to the champ in the form of a “You haven’t beaten me.” Stunned by the words of Ripley, Shayna and her gang retreated out of the ring.

Later in a rematch from NXT Takeover: Toronto, The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) took on The Undisputed Era’s Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish.

After dominating most of the match, The Undisputed Era were able to finish off the Street Profits, by pinning Ford to become three-time NXT Champions.

Nick’s Take: With Rhea Ripley back with NXT, this may be the biggest challenge that Shayna Baszler has faced so far. The time of ‘The Street Profits’ on NXT may also have come to an end. With constant segments on RAW each week, Ford and Dawkins may have earn themselves a call-up to the main roster.
