Mistrial Declared In Jeff Jarrett’s Lawsuit Against Anthem Wrestling

A mistrial was declared in the lawsuit pitting Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling against Anthem Wrestling.

United States District Court Judge Waverly D. Crenshaw, Jr. declared a mistrial on Friday, granting a motion filed by Anthem’s legal team. There were a number of factors that caused Anthem to request the mistrial. They alleged Jarrett’s attorney had prejudiced the jury after stating that Ed Nordholm was not present for court proceedings on July 20th, as well as by bringing up numbers regarding liabilities in closing arguments despite the court stressing that they were to be left for the discussion about potential damages.

The judge ruled the GFW Amped! tapes are to be preserved and there will be a conference call next month to arrange a new trial.

The verdict where the jury found Anthem liable has been vacated and the jury has been dismissed.
