Lesnar Returning, AEW Star Taking WWE Talent Concerns Public, Hell In A Cell Surprises, Rollins Frustrated

Is Brock Lesnar returning to WWE to feud with Roman Reigns?

Brock Lesnar is no longer under WWE contract. As we have noted on numerous occasions, there has still been talk about a potential WrestleMania 37 match pitting Lesnar against Roman Reigns. While it is significant Lesnar does not have a contract, the belief is Vince McMahon will be able to work out a deal when he needs Brock again. Right now without live crowds he is not seen as a priority as the company did not want to use him without a live audience. It would be hard to envision any other company or promotion using Lesnar. He commands a significant price for limited dates. AEW could afford him but how would they book him? Surely they wouldn’t want to sign him only to destroy their roster on sporadic appearances. UFC is obviously an option but as far as we know, Brock has not entered the USADA testing pool. Obviously we are several months away from WrestleMania 37 and a lot could change, especially with the pandemic, but Lesnar vs. Reigns has been discussed.

I saw Jake Hager accuse WWE of lying about profits. Why is he so bitter?

I do not consider Jake Hager as bitter. He left WWE, got signed by AEW and also has a deal to fight for Bellator MMA. He is in better shape outside of WWE than he was with them. If you notice in his tweet, he tagged Andrew Yang. Yang has been especially critical of WWE’s business practices in light of them seizing talent Cameo accounts. I see it as Hager sticking up for friends who were released from WWE. Stephanie McMahon has a job to do in pushing the WWE brand. The problem is 2020 has been a very difficult year. People have gotten sick, people have lost their jobs. The public does not want to see boasting about awards under these circumstances. Swagger was just speaking up for the employees and others who do not have the public platform. I can tell you many WWE Superstars feel the same way but cannot speak out in fear of repercussions.

I know you do not like doing predictions but any musings heading into this weekend’s pay-per-view?

I do not like doing predictions and here is a very good example: the initial WWE Hell in a Cell betting odds. Sasha Banks opens as a favorite to defeat Bayley and Drew McIntyre opens as the favorite to beat Randy Orton. If I were predicting I would have both of those matches going the other way. Surely Banks vs. Bayley will continue past one pay-per-view – does Banks win the title out of the gate? Given the program between McIntyre and Orton, I almost feel as though Orton needs the title to continue his dominant heel run. These outcomes are obviously subject to change but I was surprised when I looked earlier today. Roman Reigns does open as a significant favorite against Jey Uso and Elias opens as a small favorite against Jeff Hardy.

Has Seth Rollins’s program with the Mysterio family gone on too long?

The program should have concluded before the draft, especially if they planned to move Seth Rollins to SmackDown. I understand all parties moved but it has gone on long enough. Vince McMahon has been a big fan and it has been one of the better programs on Raw. However, every program has a shelf life and this one has reached it. Seth Rollins was apparently hoping it would have concluded as well.
