WWE sources are now indicating that Corey Graves wrote his Tweet directed at Mauro Ranallo to play into the brand warfare element of Survivor Series.
Apparently Graves had planned to mention it the next night on the pay-per-view while sitting next to Ranallo.
However, Ranallo didn’t worked the pay-per-view. Michael Cole stated Ranallo’s absence was because he blew out his voice [at TakeOver] but it was definitely in response to the tweet. As we reported earlier, Ranallo won’t be on commentary for tonight’s episode of NXT on the USA Network either.
While Graves didn’t necessarily double down on his stance, he took his time before finally apologizing.
Also, before he apologized he took his time in going after Ranallo’s manager Frank Shamrock on Twitter. Further, Graves used the opportunity to attempt to degrade Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
