Backstage News On Roman Reigns Challenging For Universal Title At Wrestlemania 36

Roman Reigns still remains a top candidate to challenge for the WWE Universal Championship at Wrestlemania 36 this year in Tampa.

As reported here on WrestlePages.com, Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship was penciled in as the SmackDown main event for WWE’s biggest show of the year on April 5th, 2020.

WWE seemed to reveal their intentions during a backstage segment on last night’s Friday Night SmackDown with Reigns and Daniel Bryan. Bryan teased he would be winning the Universal Championship from Bray Wyatt at Royal Rumble, to which Reigns stated he was happy because he would be entering the men’s Rumble match. That way he could go over and challenge the champion at Wrestlemania.

Obviously this DOES NOT mean Reigns will win the men’s Rumble match, it just gives WWE another option to get to a situation where Reigns is challenging for the Universal title at Wrestlemania if that’s the direction they plan to take.

So far, the men’s Rumble will feature Reigns, Elias, Braun Strowman and Cesaro. We have the segment from SmackDown embedded in the player above.
