Even with NXT’s forthcoming move to the USA Network, there are still plans for NXT talent to get “called up” to RAW or SmackDown, reports Dave Meltzer. This indicates NXT is not going to be considered a third equal brand.
Also, there are plans for each brand to have separate announcers, with Corey Graves going to one show.
Meltzer notes that SmackDown will no longer be viewed as a B show to RAW but more of its equal.
Regarding the upcoming WWE Draft, Meltzer reports the plan is for it to be treated like a legitimate sports draft. As noted here on WrestlePages.com, the draft will take place over the Oct. 11th episode of SmackDown and Oct. 14th episode of RAW. It will be just the second episode of SmackDown on FOX.
There is talk of moving Renee Young to SmackDown since she’ll be hosting the WWE FS1 show and FOX executives are high up on her, per Meltzer.
