Cathy Kelley explained why she left WWE during an appearance on “Better Together with Maria Menounos.” Her final date with the company was WWE NXT TakeOver: Portland.
“I just knew that it was the right time and really feeling like I had planted a lot of seeds. There’s so many things that I want to do in my life,” Kelly said h/t WrestlingNews.co.
“With the WWE schedule, it’s so time-consuming because you are traveling so much. Being me, I wanted to do everything so I wanted to work as much as possible which also meant being away from Los Angeles, which I just moved to. That wouldn’t have allowed me to continue to do the other things, or work on the other things that I wanted to do.”
Kelley admitted she left the company without another job lined up but stated she has friends she can lean on if the need arises. She said the travel was exhausting and her brain was overloaded due to sleep deprivation.
“I hadn’t taken a proper day or weekend off or show off since I had been there. If I did it was to work on another project. That gets really hard.”
