Killer Kross remains under contract with Impact Wrestling but the company has chose not to use him, reports Mike Johnson.
Kross hasn’t worked for the promotion since losing a “First Blood” match against Eddie Edwards at Slammiversary on July 7. The reason Impact has opted not to use him is primarily due to him requesting his release back in May.
At the time, Kross was unhappy with his pay and pushed for a new deal in the six-figure per year range, which would be a significant raise from his current deal. Impact countered with a three-year offer with guaranteed money as opposed to paying him per date, but it was well below the six-figures he was seeking.
Kross rejected the counter offer and requested his release, which was not granted by Impact. The two sides remain in negotiations and things were still “professional” as of a couple of months ago.
According to Johnson, several workers have expressed sympathy for Kross, who bet on himself for a better deal but is now in a worse situation than when he started.
The next Impact television tapings are on September 5 and 6 in Las Vegas and Kross lives in the city so it will be interesting to see whether or not he is used.
