Backstage News On The Fiend vs. Seth Rollins, Vince McMahon’s Reaction

WWE has officially ruled The Fiend vs. Seth Rollins’ Hell in a Cell main event as ending in “match stoppage,” which is essentially a no contest.

The finish was called for after Rollins used the sledgehammer on the pile of weapons that covered Bray Wyatt’s head.

Fans in the crowd and on social media have voiced their displeasure with the result. Chants of “AEW” and “refund” filled the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento at the conclusion of the event. “#CancelWWENetwork” is currently trending on Twitter as of Monday morning.

According to Fightful Select, the finish was a Vince McMahon call and it played out exactly how he wanted.

It was said that he initially laughed off the reaction before eventually realizing he messed up and is “not oblivious” to the negative reaction.

It’ll be interesting to see how WWE responds tonight on Raw.
