AEW Dynamite crushed WWE NXT in viewership during their first head-to-head challenge.
Dynamite drew 1.409 million viewers on TNT to WWE NXT’s viewership of 891,000 viewers on the USA Network. AEW had 58% more viewers in what can only be described as a stunning victory.
Dynamite was No. 1 in the Cable Top 150 18-49 demographic list, while NXT ranked #10. There was significant competition on ESPN as the MLB Wild Card game did 3.969 million viewers.
This is the lowest audience for NXT since premiering on the USA Network on Sept. 18. This was the first week where both hours of NXT aired on USA.

Richard Reacts: The people entrenched in the IWC will say things like “this was expected” and “this isn’t a surprise” but let’s call this for what it is – a HUGE victory for AEW. AEW is a brand new promotion and this is their first cable TV broadcast. While NXT may be new to cable TV, they’re under the gigantic WWE banner and this is a MASSIVE win for AEW. To not only draw 58% more viewers than NXT but to take that much away from WWE, this is war. Vince McMahon is going to respond with all he has. He doesn’t handle stuff like this well.
