WWE Interested In Doing Cain Velasquez vs. Brock Lesnar Program

The key to WWE’s offer to UFC legend Cain Velasquez would be building to a showdown with Brock Lesnar, reports Dave Meltzer.

As reported here on WrestlePages.com over the weekend, Velasquez had a meeting with WWE recently and talks are serious. He currently remains under contract with the UFC but is transitioning to professional wrestling with active gigs with AAA.

Meltzer reports Velasquez, 37, would likely undergo knee surgery prior to any type of long-term commitment with a pro wrestling company.

There would still be obstacles that would have to be worked out for any type of deal to come to fruition and AEW also remains an interested party. Velasquez’s UFC contract still has several fights left on it and the deal is believed to restrict how much he can do with wrestling.
