WWE is moving NXT to the new Capitol Wrestling Center beginning with tonight’s Takeover 31, as previously reported here on WrestlingNews.com.
Takeover 31 features live fans, comprised of talent, their friends and family and some very lucky fans. The redesigned Performance Center includes video boards that incorporates the virtual fans.
There was talk of moving NXT to the ThunderDome but the decision was made to move bot NXT and 205 Live to the rebranded WWE Performance Center to help isolate potential COVID-19 outbreaks from Raw and SmackDown. Full Sail University has students back on campus so WWE did not want to have their staff being exposed to more people than needed. WWE had been running a closed set with their NXT tapings, which kept Full Sail students from “shadowing” the NXT crew.
Triple H discussed the debut of the Capitol Wrestling Center in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
