NXT moved its way to Wednesday nights on the USA Network when AEW Dynamite made its debut on TNT last year. With it started the Wednesday Night Wars, which has been going on since then.
A few weeks ago, NXT and AEW Dynamite aired on different nights and this helped both shows receive more viewers. While NXT received more than 800, 000 viewers, Dynamite managed over 1 million viewers. Chris Jericho also said in the past that WWE should shift NXT to Tuesday nights as Dynamite was embarrassing them every week.
During a teleconference to promote NXT TakeOver: 31, Triple H was asked by Dave Meltzer if NXT was going to move to Tuesday nights. Triple H revealed that they will not be leaving Wednesday nights and that they are “happy where they are.” This decision was finalized by the company and its partners.
