Roman Reigns is already being criticized following his return to WWE at the conclusion of last night’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.
The feeling from some fans is he should not be automatically thrust back into the title picture after opting out due to COVID-19 pandemic. The assertion is Kevin Owens too opted out and was relegated to a pre-show match [at Extreme Rules] and left off the SummerSlam card entirely, when he was concerned about WWE not taking the virus seriously.
Reigns was scheduled to win the WWE Universal Championship from Goldberg at WrestleMania 36 so it is not like a new course for him is being given. He is just being reinserted in the hunt for the WWE Universal Championship, where he will program with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. There is also a chance they put Braun Strowman in and make it a triple threat.
WWE has released new Roman Reigns merchandise, with the phrase “Wreck Everyone & Leave.” He had this shirt on when he returned and beat up both Strowman and Wyatt to stand tall with the WWE Universal Championship belt.
