Ring of Honor is resuming operations this month in Maryland after nearly six months on hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As reported here on WrestlingNews.com, the promotion will tape television in Maryland. The focus of those tapings will be the Pure Title tournament, which was originally scheduled for April.
ROH announced today there will be no fans in attendance at the tapings. The promotion will adhere to medical and administrative protocols instituted by the Maryland State Athletic Commission.
The promotion will test all talent and referees for COVID-19 two weeks prior to shows. Within three days of a show, a second PCR swab test will be completed. After the second test, the individuals will be isolated in separate hotel accommodations and separate eating arrangements, as they must remain isolated until arriving at the show. Talent and referees will then be required to undergo a third PCR test on the day of the event.
In addition, temperature checks will be conducted at the door and anyone with a temperature of 100 F or higher will not be allowed in the building.
As for the actual Pure Title tournament, seven of the 16 participants have been announced. They are as follows: Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Matt Sydal, David Finlay, Tracy Williams, Josh Woods and Wheeler Yuta
Several international talents originally scheduled for the tournament had to withdraw due to travel restrictions. Those talents include: former Pure Champion Doug Williams, Mark Haskins, Slex, Joe Hendry, Yuji Nagata and Ren Narita.
