Crews vs. MVP was scheduled for WWE’s The Horror Show at Extreme Rules but was pulled from the card the day of the show. WWE gave the storyline explanation that Crews suffered a back injury due to an “attack” from Bobby Lashley and that he “failed his pre-match physical.” It was later learned that Crews was removed from the show due to concerns with COVID-19

As we reported here on WrestlingNews.com Insider, Crews was considered “iffy” for the pay-per-view before eventually not being cleared. Some of his friends believe he tested positive for COVID-19.

Crews is someone MVP has worked with behind the scenes as a mentor.
