WWE officially began the build towards Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam on tonight’s episode of Monday Night Raw.
Orton opened the show by cutting a promo on McIntyre. He explained he respects McIntyre for beating Brock Lesnar in quick fashion at WrestleMania but he has something he wants – the WWE Championship.

Orton vs. McIntyre for the title had long been rumored to headline SummerSlam but there had been no mention of it on television until tonight. SummerSlam will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2020 at a location still to be determined.
