WWE NXT Likely To Move To FS1 To Compete With AEW On TNT

The preliminary plan is for WWE NXT to move to FS1 and air from 8-10 PM ET when FOX’s deal with the company begins, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The plan was largely agreed to in late June or July and talks are far enough along where FOX executives specifically mentioned discussions about bringing NXT to FS1 a couple of weeks ago during a meeting with affiliates.

WWE is looking to compete with All Elite Wrestling, which will premiere Wednesdays on TNT although an official timeslot has yet to be announced. It’s expected the weekly series will air from 8-10 PM ET.

As for NXT, the idea is the show would be live as WWE officials feel a taped show wouldn’t do as well against a live AEW show. It’s currently unclear whether or not WWE would continue to do NXT at Full Sail University or take the show on the road.

Regarding a timetable, it’s unknown if NXT would begin airing on FS1 in October or later on down the line. It is possible for main roster stars to crossover on the series to help bolster it against AEW on cable television.
