SummerSlam News: WWE Star Frustrated, John Cena, Big Names In Toronto, Sasha Banks

– John Cena, who hasn’t worked a match at SummerSlam since 2017, wished his WWE family well tonight. Cena tweeted, “Wishing safety and unforgettable moments to the entire WWE family for #SummerSlam! Savor every second, there are few things more magical than the WWE Universe.”

– Bret Hart is expected backstage at SummerSlam, as he’s been in town for a WWE booked Meet and Greet. No word on whether or not WWE will show him on camera.

HeelbyNature.com reports Sasha Banks is being spoke about backstage due to her Instagram stories stories showing her being home may be a “smokescreen”. Obviously a return is possible.

– Drew McIntyre is frustrated about being left off the SummerSlam card. “It’s a little frustrating, but the truth is, the thing I’ve learned is patience.” McIntyre said in a WWE Now interview. “Give me a match or I’m gonna beat somebody up. I can’t guarantee it’ll be on camera. I’m just gonna beat somebody up.”

– NWA owner Billy Corgan was spotted in Toronto on Sunday, according to PWInsider. It’s unknown if he’ll be in attendance at SummerSlam as his band, the Smashing Pumpkins, have a show in the city on Tuesday.
